In some buildings people stay after the service and talk.  In others they're out the door and in their cars.  A well designed building can help encourage fellowship.

  • Locate the fellowship area where it will be more convenient than the door.  If people walk by a table of good food and a room of friendly faces before reaching the door, they will be more likely to stay.

  • Design and build settings that encourage conversation, such as seating areas with varying degrees of privacy, a place to wait for your ride, comfortable chairs, sunny windows, a fireplace.

  • Make it easy to serve food, with preparation facilities close by and convenient.

A building can be designed to encourage and support fellowship.  If your building is a pleasant place to be, people will linger, chat, and share.
