Notes - ZWEIZIG Charles R. "Chuck" Zweizig, 76, Kenton, OH, formerly of Marion. Pastor Charles "Chuck" Zweizig passed away peacefully on the evening of Saturday April 14, 2012 at the Kenton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Kenton, Ohio. He was born June 9, 1935 in York, PA, the son of the late Rev. Charles and Grace (Lough) Zweizig Sr. On September 16, 1983 he married Elizabeth A. (Greene) Tolley, she passed away January 28, 2011. On February 11, 2012, he married Sonia "Toni" (Retterer) Martino and she survives. He is also survived by his children, David (Pamela) Zweizig of Lockport, IL; Andrew (Holly) Zweizig of Marysville, OH; Miriam (Michael Biggins) Zweizig of Seattle, WA; Bruce Tolley of Columbus, OH; Jeffrey (Cindy) Tolley of Spartanburg, SC; J. Steven Tolley of Healy, Alaska; John Walter (Judy) Tolley IV of Newark, OH; David (Camar) Tolley of Powell, OH; Richard (Kim) Tolley of Granville, OH; Beth (Scott) Milliken of Healy, Alaska; Jan Tolley of Delaware, OH; Todd (Kim) Martio of Mt. Victory, OH; Tricia Smith of Kenton; and Robin (Ryan) Miller of Kenton; many grandchildren and several great grandchildren; brother, Douglas (Karen) Zweizig of Evansville, WI; and a longtime family friend, Clara Butler. He was preceded in death by a sister Betsy Newman. Chuck was Pastor of congregations in Washington DC, New Cumberland, PA, Worthington and Marion, Ohio, and, in what would otherwise have been retirement years, served as full time as Associate Pastor at St. John's United Church of Christ in Kenton, Ohio for over 11 years. He graduated from Franklin and Marshall College with a degree in English, then went onto graduate from Union Theological Seminary in New York City. Chuck was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ in Kenton where he led the Golden Buckeye Sunday School Class. He was a board member of LOVE Inc. in Kenton. He was a man of many words and loved the English language. He enjoyed creating puns, some very clever, some not. He was an avid sports fan year-round and had a special place in his heart for the OSU Buckeyes. His idea of a good vacation was to drive hundreds of miles or to fly across the continent to visit with his extended family. He loved people, loved his work and was loved by many, many people whose lives he affected with his service, friendship and caring. His passion was supporting people during their time of need. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at the St. John's United Church of Christ in Kenton at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Neil Partington and Rev. Scott Johnson will officiate the funeral service. Visitation to remember Chuck and visit with his family will be held from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at the St. John's United Church of Christ and one hour prior to the funeral service Wednesday, April 18, 2012. After services, at the request of the family, his body will be cremated and his remains buried with his parents in Maryland. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hardin County Hospice, LOVE Inc., and/or St. John's United Church of Christ.
