William C Markley was born Sept. 5, 1857 in the “old country” (Germany) to Gottlieb and Catharine Markley. He was twice married, first wife died in 1890, as noted on marriage record to Mary Price on Dec. 25, 1897 at Loganton, PA by Charles F. Garrett, Minister.
1900 Lock Haven, Clinton, PA, Wm Markley 42, a Cigar Maker, rented home at Walnut St., Mary J 40, married 2 years, she had no children, Wm 16 born Dec 1883 PA his son, both parents listed born Germany.
William died Sept. 17, 1909.

Laid To Rest.
Funeral services over the remains of the late William Markley were conducted in the First United Evanglical church Monday afternnon by Rev. C. W. Finkbinder, the pastor of that congregation. Messrs. John Dubler, Charles Schadt, William Philips and John Badey, employes of Allen Sterner’s cigar factory, where the deceased was formerly employed, and Alex Blesh and William G. Voss, acted as casket bearers. Interment was made in Dunnstown cemetery.
