The process of planning your building project can be a strengthening experience, focusing and galvanizing the congregation.  It can take place in an atmosphere where everyone contributes ideas.  The result can be better than anyone expected.

  • Focus the discussion on ministry - what you want to accomplish, and how the building will help you accomplish it.

  • Use worship, workshops, meetings, and informal conversations to identify the goals.

  • Let your thinking expand and your horizons broaden.  A building is expensive and permanent.  You only get to design it once.

  • Justify each design decision in terms of ministry goals and good stewardship.

  • Use models and drawings to clearly communicate design ideas.

  • Ask for feedback and suggestions.  Listen to it.  Discuss it. Understand it.  Then incorporate it into the design.

  • Get involved in the design process and take ownership of the design.

Designing a tool for ministry requires communication, empathy, knowledge, insight, cooperation.  It is more than just putting up a building.

Is this a process you'd like to use?  Call us!  We design building for churches.
