He was preceded in death by a sister Betsy Newman. Chuck was Pastor of congregations in Washington DC, New Cumberland, PA, Worthington and Marion, Ohio, and, in what would otherwise have been retirement years, served as full time as Associate Pastor at St. John's United Church of Christ in Kenton, Ohio for over 11 years. He graduated from Franklin and Marshall College with a degree in English, then went onto graduate from Union Theological Seminary in New York City. Chuck was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ in Kenton where he led the Golden Buckeye Sunday School Class. He was a board member of LOVE Inc. in Kenton. He was a man of many words and loved the English language. He enjoyed creating puns, some very clever, some not. He was an avid sports fan year-round and had a special place in his heart for the OSU Buckeyes. His idea of a good vacation was to drive hundreds of miles or to fly across the continent to visit with his extended family. He loved people, loved his work and was loved by many, many people whose lives he affected with his service, friendship and caring. His passion was supporting people during their time of need. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at the St. John's United Church of Christ in Kenton at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Neil Partington and Rev. Scott Johnson will officiate the funeral service. Visitation to remember Chuck and visit with his family will be held from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at the St. John's United Church of Christ and one hour prior to the funeral service Wednesday, April 18, 2012. After services, at the request of the family, his body will be cremated and his remains buried with his parents in Maryland. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hardin County Hospice, LOVE Inc., and/or St. John's United Church of Christ. Condolences may be left for the family at schindewolfstoutfuneralhome.com. SCHINDEWOLF STEVENS STOUT FUNERAL HOME in Kenton is handling the arrangements.
