Opened in the fall of 1911, with the first burial 11 Sept 1917, Mt. Airy Cemetery is located on land that was originally part of John Harrison’s Mount Airy farm. John Harrison, the man for whom Harrison Township (a.k.a. Natrona Heights) was named, bred heavy draft horses for sale to local manufactures.

Mount Airy Cemetery covers over 50 acres, much of which has not yet been opened for burials. Several mausoleums are located near the front entrance and separate burial sections have been designated for raised stones and others for flat stones on the rolling land.

Every stone in the cemetery was photographed and added to Find-a-Grave during the summer of 2015.
