The first church on this site was a union (Lutheran and Reformed) church (log), built on land given by the Wolfersbergers. It remained a union church until 1885, when Lutheran services ceased. In 1845 the log church was replaced by a substantial stone building which was destroyed by a severe storm in September, 1896. The present stone church was dedicated in 1897, and is now the United Church of Christ. The oldest stone in this cemetery is dated 1787.
