      Charles was called home to be with his beloved wife, Louann (Watson) Handley on May 15, 2015 at Dr. Kate Seasons of Life Hospice in Woodruff, Wisconsin.
      He was born in Danville on Nov. 3, 1933 but spent more than 30 years in the San Diego, California area. Charles is survived by a brother, Jack; a sister, Jean and her husband, Dr. Blake Talbot and a sister-in-law, Minnette (Watson) and her husband, William Terlep.
      Charles was also preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Florence Handley and a brother, Bill Handley.
      Charles graduated from Danville High School in 1951. In his senior year he was elected president of the DHS band. He was a member of the wrestling team and participated in a Golden Gloves boxing program. He attended Danville Junior College, where in his sophomore year he was elected president of his class.
      He attended Michigan State University and the University of Illinois, where he obtained a master
