      William Lynden Speaks, age 81, died Monday, May 26, 1997, at his residence. Born July 21, 1916, in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Worley Lee and Nona Davenport Speaks. He was a retired building contractor, a member of the Mayo Christian Church, and attended Salvisa Christian Church. He was a charter member of the Salvisa Ruritan Club. He was the husband of the late Vanita Hawkins Speaks. Survivors include: one brother, Owen Lee Speaks, Louisville; one sister, Mrs. Marthalene (David) Davis, Shepherdsville; two nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret D. Speaks. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 30, at the Gash Memorial Chapel, Lawrenceburg, with Rev. Jerry Summers officiating. Burial will be in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
