      "Charles Edmund Stafford, 62, 5424 West 1240 South, Romney, died at Home Hospital, Lafayette, at 6:19 p.m. March 14, 1991. He was born at Odell, May 13, 1928, the son of Edmund N. and Helen E. Hall Stafford. He was married September 25, 1949, at Jackson Heights, to Catherin M. McCarty. She survives.
      He had lived all of his life in Tippecanoe County and the Odell area. He was a graduate of Jackson Heights High School. He was a life-time farmer in the area. He was a member of the Jackson Heights United Methodist Church, Shawnee Masonic Lodge #129, Order of Eastern Star #123, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis. He was a past master of Shawnee Masonic Lodge and a member of the Farm Bureau.
      Surviving, besides his wife, are: four sons, Charles Dean, West Point, Russell Neal, Romney, Bruce L. and James D., both of Lafayette; two daughters, Mrs. Kevin J. (Kathy A.) Coomey, Lafayette, Mrs. Daniel (Karen) Slagel, Iowa City, Iowa; three sister, Mrs. Carroll (Margaret) Hashaw, Route 1, Attica, Mrs. Doandl (Barbara) Hallett, Kalamazoo, Michigan, Mrs. Leroy (Mary Ellen) Ade, West Lafayette; and six grandchildren.
      Funeral services will be held at Maus Funeral Home, Attica, at 10:30 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Richard Girton officiating. Burial was in Wheeler Grove Cemetery near Wingate. Memorial contributions were made to the American Lung Association or the West Point Volunteer Fire Department. Masonic services were held at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Sunday."
