    • Jesse Franklin Brawaner
      Jesse (Jess) Franklin Brawner, 93, of Paris died Saturday, Oct. 2 in St. Joseph’s Hospital and Health Center.
      Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4, in Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Osteen, the Rev. Terrell Hill and the Rev. Harold Kirtley officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery. The family will receive friend from 3-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
      Mr. Brawner was born Oct. 13, 1899 in Maryville, Tenn., a son of John Farr Brawner and Martha Wilburn Brawner. He attended school in Savoy. He married Naomi Fox in Hugo, Okla. on May 1, 1929.
      He had worked with the Frisco Railroad as a yard foreman, farmed and retired from the Lubbock Independent School District in 1961 after 10 years of service in the custodial department. He was a member of the Afton Baptist Church.
      He is survived by his wife, two sons, Johnny F. Brawner of Paris and Lloyd Browner of Lubbock; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Stanley Brawner.
      Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Sulsar, Jimmy Fox, John Butler, Jack Mason, Danny Mason, Ronnie Fox, Edward Fox and Clovis Vaughn.
