      Joseph V. Gritton, age 67, of Schererville, passed away Sun. Oct. 9, 1977. Survivors: wife, Frances; one son, Robert Gritton of Hammond; two daughters, Mrs. Marianne (James) Nickels of Gary, Mrs. Phyllis Alan of Hammond; two grandchildren, Marianne Frances Alan, Rebecca Diane Gritton.

      Funeral services will be held Tues., Oct. 11, 2 p.m. at the Kuiper Funeral Home Chapel, with Bishop Philip Empey officiating. Burial, Calumet Park Cemetery. Friends are invited to call Mon., 2 to 5 and 7 to p 9 p.m. at the Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman, (2 blocks south of Ridge Rd.) Highland.

      Mr. Gritton was a member of Local #142 of Gary. Retired from Cities Service.
