Notes - Catherine Shumate. She was born circa 1806 in Kentucky and is believed to have died prior to 1873. On 30 April 1827 Catherine married Aaron Woodruff in Harrison County, Kentucky. The writer has no further information about her or her family other than to speculate she may have had two children, a son William S. Woodruff and a daughter Catherine (Woodruff) Bell. But if she did not have a daughter named Catherine, then possibly she, herself, may have married second a Mr. Bell, and thus was living at the time of her brother William *XIV)'s Will (See William Shumate (XIV)'s Will, pages H-84 and H-85, Appendix H.)
