Tobias was a tanner, his son Robert was a tallow chandler.

b abt 1551; buried at Bishops-Stortford as Tobias Chandler, old man 24 Oct 1629, m 21 Sept 1574 Johan Momford who was buried at Bishops-Stortford 29 June 1618.
He was church warden at B-S in 1598. He was taxed on the goods in the subsidy of 39 Elizabeth [1596-1597], the amount of the tax illegible. On 9 Dec 1618 he was a witness to the will of his cousin, Henry Chandler. His will states his daughters Margaret, Jhone and Grace., sons John, Robert and George. The will was proved 24 Nov 1629.
