- Ponder, Ruth
Age 95, Hamilton, died Monday, April 11, 2016 in the Butler County Care Facility. She was born in Jackson County, Kentucky on October 14, 1920 the daughter of Carter and Julia (McQueen) Lakes. She married Curtis F. Ponder in 1939 in Newport, Kentucky and he precede her in death in 1983. She was a charter member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Ruth is survived by her son, Lelve Ponder, Hamilton; three grandchildren Kevin (Monica) Ponder, Susan (Chris) Gray and Anna (Steve) Buell and four great granddaughters, Alivia, Julia, Eve and Corrina and also two devoted nieces, Judy Reichie and Ruth Ann Horn and faithful visitor Doris Kramer. She was precede in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Carl and Charles Lakes, a daughter-in-law, Nancee Ponder and a grandson, Robert Ponder. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 15, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at Weigle Funeral Home, 980 N.W. Washington Blvd., with Pastor Orville Roach officiating. Private burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be Friday, April 15, 2016 from 10:30 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home.
