      69, of Monterey, TN, died Monday, December 1, 1997 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville after an extended illness. He was born June 8, 1928, the son of the late Anderson Dorsey & Hallie Mae Walker Bright, He was a member of the Thornhill Baptist Church and regularly attended Monterey First Baptist Church. Mr. Bright worked as a coal miner at the Clinchfield Coal Co. in Monterey until the company ceased operations in the 1960s. Later, he & his wife operated the Bright Burger Restaurant in Monterey, and he was retired form the Purolater Freight Co. In addition to his parents, Mrs. Bright was preceded in death by three sisters, Rebeca Bright, Sarah Muncy & Priscilla Stamps; and one brother, Edwin Bright. He is survived by his wife, Phina Hundley Bright of Monterey, TN; two sons & daughters-in-law, Grey & Jane Ann Bright of Monterey and Mark & Denise Bright of Cookeville, TN; three daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry & Monty Johnson of Cookeville, Sheila & Joe Jachimowicz of Brunswick, GA, and Sandra & Gary Roah of Cookeville; give brothers, Paul & Robert Bright, both of Beavercreek, Bill Bright of Fairfield Glade, James Bright of Bradenton, FL and George Bright of Monterey; three sisters, Gaynelle Turner & Daurine Edwards, both of Beavercreek, and Mary Blair of Dayton; seven grandchildren, Cynthia Rittenbury, Bradley, Ross & Aarol Bright, Myriah Roach, and Kelly & Ryan Jachimowicz; and two great-grandchildren, Seth & Victoria Rittenberry. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 4, 1997 at the chapel of Horner Funeral Home, Monterery, TN, with Rev. Bill Vance and Rev. William J. Powell officiating. Interment will follow in the Whittaker Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-9 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
