    • BOONEVILLE - Eugene Tackett, age 86, husband of Evelyn (Sexton) Tackett. passed away Saturday, November 13, 2010, at the Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson, KY.

      Eugene was born in Ernestville, Owsley County, KY, on May 6, 1924, to the late Mattie (Warren) and Green Berry Tackett. He was a retiree of General Electric in Cincinnati, OH, a member of Light for the Lost, a member of Travelers Rest Assembly of God Church, a Veteran of the United States Army, serving during W.W.II, Chaplain for D.A.V. Post 21, and a member of the 287 PORT Company Association.

      Along with his wife of 63 years, he is survived by 2 sons; David (Jenny) Tackett of Hamilton, OH and Loren (Juanita) Tackett of Booneville, KY, 2 daughters; Gwen (Larry) Murphy of Vincent, KY and Kim Franks of Hamilton, OH, 6 grandchildren; Jenny DeBoer, David Murphy, Michelle Glossip, Shauna Tackett, Stefanie Franks and Brad Franks, 7 great grandchildren, and many other loving family members and friends.

      Along with his parents he was preceded in death by 2 brothers; James and Conley Tackett, and 2 sisters; Beulah Hale and Alma Tackett.

      Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at 12:00 PM at the Booneville Funeral Home, with Pastor Gary Vandeventer officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 16, 2010, 10:00 AM until time of service. Eugene will be laid to rest at the Tackett-Gabbard Cemetery in Travellers Rest, KY, with the Booneville Funeral is in charge of all arrangements.
