- Bernice Conn Kidwell
Bernice Conn Kidwell, 80, of Copper Creek Road, Crab Orchard, died Friday, March 3 at the Terrace Nursing Home in Berea.
A native of Garrard Co., she was born June 28, 1925 to the late Clay and Susie Ballard Conn. She was a member of Valley Baptist Church and the widow of Elmer Kidwell.
She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Woods Walker Lear who was killed in WWII in 1944; her second husband, Elmer Kidwell; one son an daughter-in-law, Gary and Sue Kidwell; brothers, Walter, George, Roy and Clay Conn, Jr.; sisters, Lillie Roberts, Lula Richmond, Lena Kidwell, Estel Ross, Martha Avis Conn, and Gladys Causey.
Survivors include two sons, Fred (Hallie) Lear of Lancaster and Larry (fiance Tojnia Lyons) Kidwell of Copper Creek; five daughters, Phyllis (Carl) Pingleton and Joyce (Larry) Leece both of Copper Creek, Linda (Plese) Brock, Jr. of Brindle Ridge, and Wanda (Terry) Pettit and Rita (Keith) Benge both of Crab Orchard; one sister, Ava Clark of Berea; 20 grandchildren, and 26 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 6 at the Valley Baptist Church with Bros. Greg Lakes and Denton Sears officiating. Burial was in Wilmot Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Jeremy Brock, Mikel Kidwall, Jason Brock, Jimmy Kidwell, Greg Pettit, Derek Benge and Kevin Pettit. Honorary pallbearers were Glen and Jamie Lear, and Curtis, Dwight, Robbie, and Michael Pingleton.
McKnight Funeral Home of Crab Orchard was in charge of the arrangements.
