Notes - Note on Find a Grave:
This man's name was different at birth, but b/c he was released from an orphanage to the Madden family for farm work, he took on their family surname. He supposedly was 1/2 N.A. Indian, either of Cherokee or Blackfeet descent.
[1] - Richmond, Ky., Nov. 24 (Special) – John Madden, 41, East Main street, Richmond, coal dealer, died at the Pattie A. Clay infirmary at 4 a.m. today after an illness of five weeks.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Minnie Madden; three daughters, Mrs. W.C. Smith and Misses Evelyn and Anna Frances madden; three sons, John Madden Jr., and Billie Lee Madden, and William Madden, stationed in the South Pacific; and three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Dott, Winchester, Ind. Mrs. Nancy Burton, Richmond, and Mrs. Effie Howe, Sulphur, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Calvary Baptist church, Richmond, with the Rev. Raymond Kays and Rev. W.R. Royce officiating. Burial will be in the Richmond cemetery.
