      After Gertrude died, William married a third time to Mary Elizabeth Overby (d. June 1982).

    • William Campbell, 76, dies; operated restaurant in Paris
      Paris – William L. Campbell, 76, died yesterday morning in Richmond at the home of a daughter.
      Campbell, with his wife, the late Mary Elizabeth Overby Campbell, had operated Overby’s Restaurant in Paris for 28 years. Overby sold the restaurant, which is located across the street from the county courthouse, about two months ago when his wife died.
      He was a member of Mount Zion Christian Church and was a native of Madison County.
      Surviving are two daughters, Naomi Tillery and Frances West, both of Richmond, and a son, Lucien Campbell of Atlanta, Ga.
      The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home. Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. today.
