Notes - DORTHA LOUISE GROVES, age 82, Cynthiana, died Thursday, June 3, 2010, at Edgemont Healthcare. Born in Harrison County, June 22, 1927, to the late Russell, Sr. and Anna Mary Turner McKinney, she was a retired equipment operator at Clark Equipment in Georgetown and a member of the Hour of Deliverance Chapel. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell McKinney, Jr. and Raymond McKinney; a sister, Betty Sue McKinney Bays and a granddaughter, Larissa Hill.
She is survived by three sons, Russell Hill, Jacksonville Florida, Robert James Lawson, Jr., Norfolk, Virginia and Grover Thomas Groves, Beauford, South Carolina; three brothers, George McKinney, McDowell, Georgia, Charles McKinney, Cynthiana and James McKinney, Harrison County; five sisters, Emma Margaret Phillips and Ruth Phillips, both of Harrison County, Mary Russell McKinney and Charlotte Ann Wells, both of Lexington and Bobbie Baxter, Bourbon County and four grandchildren, April Lawson, Michael Lawson, Alisha Groves and Russell Hill, Jr.
Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Monday at Ware Funeral Home by Rev. William Gaunce and Rev. Daryl Gaunce with visitation at 9:00 A.M. Burial will be in Jacksonville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be to the Hour of Deliverance Chapel c/o Nancy Gaunce, 552 East Pike Street, Cynthiana, KY 41031.
