Notes - Donald R. Turner
DeRidder – Services for retired Sgt. 1st Class Donald R. Turner will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Beauregard-Vernon with the Revs. Dale Miller and Alan Boaz officiating. Burial will be in Lewis Cemetery.
Turner, 59, of DeRidder died at 1:30 a.m. Friday, May 21, 1993, in Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital, Fort Polk.
He was a native of Barns, Ark. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Opal Brister Turner of DeRidder; three sons, Donald Wayne Turner of Ozark, Ark., Roger McCarty of Rosephine and Mike McCarty of College Station, Texas; five daughters, Melinda Turner of Shreveport, Rhoda Turner of Arlington, Va., Tammy Russ of Deer Park, Texas, Betty Joe Hall of Rosephine and Francise Turner of Grass Valley, Calif.; four sisters, Willie Close of Sutherlin, Ore., Alice Turner of Hot Springs, Ark., Clarice Arnold of Coalinga, Calif., and Clara Burke of Mountain Pine, Ark.; his mother, Daisy Turner of Hot Springs, Ark.; and 14 grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2-10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until time of services Sunday in the funeral home.
