Notes - Arthur Eugene “Gene” Young, 78, husband of Mary Middleton Young, of Lexington, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2015. He was born May 24, 1937 in Madison County to the late Marion Wheeler (Willard) Young and Nora Evelyn Lawson Young. He worked as a boiler processor for the General Electric Corp and loved fishing, golf and UK Basketball.
Surviving relatives besides his wife include a brother, Samuel Marion Young (Marion Samuel Sr); three sisters, Deloris McQueen, Barbara Durrum and Marietta Shields; a daughter, Ginger Shumate; two sons, Robert Young and James Young; step-daughter, Donna Byrd; step-son, Gary Byrd and ten grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:30 PM Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Kerr Brothers, Harrodsburg Road. Burial will follow in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 1:30 PM until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
