Suggested edit: He was linked to the wrong father. Don't know who his father was. But he was linked to Henry FIELD (not Fields), who lived in Culpeper County, VA all of his life (became Madison County, VA in 1792). Henry Field did have a son named Joseph who is already linked to him. No way he had a second son named Joseph, born the following year, in another state, who spelled his last name as Fields!
