Notes - On last Tuesday Robert C. Bays, by Axtell & Forbes, his attorneys, filrd a suit in the Green circuit court against Ahart Hash, charging that in the month of August 1885, Hash, in the presence of divers good citizens, uttered the following false and slanderous words of and concerning the plaintiff: "I believe that Caddy Bays and Jim Bays carried off Sherman Hash's trunk," and also, "He and Him Bays stole Sherman's trunk." Whereby Robert thinks his character has been brought into public scandal and disgrace and that he is damaged in the sum of $5,000, for which he asks judgement. - Bloomfield News.
