      The name of Thursey (Phipps) Reedy's father is not listed on her death certificate, but her death certificate lists her mother's maiden name as Susan Anderson. Thanks to a correction by Findagrave member Sandy Reese, her father has been identified as David Phipps of Grayson County, Virginia. Thursey married Jacob Reedy in Ashe County, NC on Feb 22, 1857, and had at least 6 children: Thomas L. (b. abt. 1859, NC), William Ambros, (b. 1866, VA), unnamed girl (b. abt. Feb 1870, WV), Susan S. (b. abt. 1871, WV), Harvey Tilden (b. 1876, WV), and Ruth Ann (Patterson) (1879-1911). Given the large space between Thomas and William I think there must have been more. The family lived in McDowell County, WV, in both 1870 and 1880, but by 1900 they were in Center Township, Greene County, MO. At the time of the 1900 census, Thursey had given birth to 11 children, of whom only 5 were still living.
