- Bessie Murray was born April 28, 1921 in Clay County, KY and departed this life Thursday, November 18, 2010 at her residence, being 89 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Allen & Ethel (Anderson) Robinson.
Bessie is survived by one daughter, Rita Murray Storie and husband, Richard, of Sugar Grove. She is also survived by two brothers Dallas Robinson and Paul Robinson, both of Manchester, KY, and by one sister, Pauline Doyle, of Jonesville, MI. Bessie was blessed with three grandchildren, and by two great-grandchildren. She was also blessed with a step great grandson, by a special son-in-law and his wife; by many nieces and nephews; and by one special longtime friend, Peggy Spitzer of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; plus dozens of other cherished friends from Home Health, Senior Services and C.A.P.
She loved the Lord and prayed everyday to the end.
In addition to her parents, Bessie was also preceded in death by her husband Ebb Murray; by her daughter Sharon Murray Afterkirk and by three brothers Bentley, Burton & Berlon Robinson.
Bessie's wit, hospitality and tenacity were admired and will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know her well. She was an avid gardener with a green thumb, never missing a planting season in her 89 and a half years.
We feel our loss is Heaven's gain.
