  • Notes
    • Mrs. Sarah Alice Warren, 88, a patient in the Sunnybreeze Convalescent Home, 350 Hancock Ave., died at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in Mercy Hospital, where she had been a patient since Aug. 5. She had been a patient at the convalescent home for three years prior to entering the hospital.

Born in Buckhanlon County, Va., on June 22, 1875, the daughter of James and Melinda Jackson Epperson, she was educated in the public schools of that community.

The last living member of a family of nine children, four boys and five girls, she was married to William Henry Warren in Owsley County, Ky., in January of 1898, and the devoted couples moved to Hamilton in 1909. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1948. Mr. Warren preceded her in death in that year.

      Home of Daughter

The family lived on N.F St., Hamilton, for many years, and following her husband's death, Mrs. Warren made her home with a daughter, Mrs. W.A. (Melba) Schneider, 500 Marcia Ave.

An active member of First Baptist Church, Mrs. Warren was an ardent worker in the congregation and was a member of the Philathea Class of that parish.

A devoted wife and loving mother, Mrs. Warren dedicated her life to the welfare and happiness of her family. She enjoyed traveling, and during their 50 years of marriage Mr. And Mrs. Warren spent many happy times visiting throughout the country.

She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Schneider and Mrs. Paul (Charlene) Stewart, Columbus; two sons, Everett M. Warren and Robert L. Warren, both of Columbus; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Elmer A. Proeschel Funeral Home, 547 Main St., with the Rev. George B. Scripture, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in Rose Hill Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Wednesday.
