    Attica – Edna E. Greer, 79, a former resident of 1112 Division St., died at 7:15 p.m. Friday in Murdock Manor in Lafayette where she had lived the past 4 1/2 years.
    Mrs. Greer was born May 18, 1911, in Manchester, Ky. She moved to Williamsport in 1923 from Kentucky. She moved to Attica in 1958.
    She married Robert C. Greer Jan. 9, 1927, and he died Sept. 28, 1988.
    Mrs. Greer attended schools in Fogertown, Ky. She worked at the Radio Materials Corp. in Attica for 23 years, retiring in 1973.
    She was a member of the Attica Assembly of God. She served on the church board. Her hobbies were crocheting and sewing.
    Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Robert (Willadene) Short of Forest, Mrs. Raymond (Pauline) Phelps of Route 4, Attica, and Mrs. Robert (Rose) Long and Mrs. Ray (Janie) Wirth, both of Lafayette; four sons, Boggy Gene Greer and George Greer, both of Lafayette, Louis Greer of West Point, and Carl Greer of Attica.
    Also surviving are two sisters, Delia McKinney of London, Ky., and Mae Reid of Manchester, Ky.; and four brothers, Cannon Murray of London, Ky., Edmond Murray Jr. of McKee, Ky., L.K. Murray of Indianapolis, and Rondal Murray of Connersville.

    Willadene (Greer) Short, 88, of Kirklin, IN, was called to her heavenly home, surrounded by her loving family on Friday July 16, 2021.

    She was born on February 19, 1933 to the late Robert and Edna (Murray) Greer. Willadene worked for Briggs in Flora, IN for 28 years she retired in 1998; she handled all quality control for the company. She was a woman of faith and would share the word of God to everyone. Willadene was a member of the Hedrick Assembly of God in Hedrick, IN and later when she moved to Kirklin she began attending Kirklin Assembly of God. She looked forward to attending bible study and she would sometimes bring along new people.

    Willadene would collect change and fill containers with change. When it was time to turn the change in, she would always try to guess how much she had collected. She liked working her puzzles and playing computer games, but she looked forward and enjoyed playing Nintendo games with her three youngest grandchildren. What they did not know she would warm up before they got there.

    Willadene taught her family a lot of values that could be passed down through generations of her family, but the one value that was most important to her that she passed on to her family was her faith in Jesus Christ.

    Willadene leaves behind six children; 21 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; two sisters; and three brothers. She is preceded in death by her husband, Roger Allen Short, whom she married on August 5, 1949; grandson, John Wayne Rieken; two great-granddaughters, Gabrielle Short and Mallory Weaver; brother, Carl Greer; sister, Janie Wirth; daughter-in-law, Donna Short; and son-in-law, Harry Halsema.

    Willadene's services will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 1:00 PM at North Fields Church, 1478 State Road 38, Sheridan, IN 46069, where family and friends are invited to gather from 11:00 AM until time of service. Burial will follow at Burlington Cemetery.

    Bobby Gene Greer, 85, of Lafayette, IN, passed away at the Bee Hive Homes of Lafayette/Memory Care on Friday, September 24, 2021 at 3:50 AM.

    He was born on August 1, 1936, the son of the late Robert C. and Edna E. (Murray) Greer. Bobby lived most of his life in Lafayette, graduating from Jackson Township High School in 1955 where he played varsity basketball. Bobby formerly worked as a delivery man for Omar Bakery in Lafayette. He later worked at Eli Lilly in Lafayette as a supervisor in environmental control for several years until his retirement.

    During this time, he also farmed with his father-in-law, Harley W. Rust. Bobby enjoyed spending time outdoors. He was an avid golfer, playing at the Ravines Golf Course. He was also very proud of accomplishing a hole-in-one during his golfing career. He was an avid sports fan, being a Chicago White Sox baseball fan and a Dallas Cowboys football fan. He had overseen the care of the Sugar Grove Cemetery near Jackson Heights for many years until turning over the reins to Mark Nesbitt due to his failing health. He was an active member of the River City Church in Lafayette.

    On March 27, 1957, Bobby married his high school sweetheart, Rhonda L. Kellar, in the Jackson Heights United Methodist Church.

    Bobby leaves behind his wife; three children; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one great great-granddaughter; two brothers; and two sisters. He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Greer; and two sisters, Janie Wirth and Willadene Short.

    As per Bobby's request, cremation services were accorded and a memorial gravesite service will be held at a later date in the Sugar Grove Cemetery near Jackson Heights in Tippecanoe County, IN.

    Carl “Rosie” M. Greer, 71, Attica, passed away at his home unexpectedly on Thursday, March 19, 2015.
    Carl was born in Williamsport, Indiana, on May 7, 1943. He was a life resident of Attica and attended Attica High School.
    Carl formerly worked at Harrison Steel Castings Company in Attica for 43 years and following his retirement began working at C&D Battery in Attica for the Pinkerton Security Company.
    Carl was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Attica. He was a die-hard Indiana University sports fan and a Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. He especially enjoyed his time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
    On May 16, 1964, Carol married Linda Lou Mitton in Attica. She preceded him in death on February 10, 2007.
    He leaves behind three daughters, Kristy (Mike) Grogan, Independence; Karla (Kevin) Tippy, Lafayette and Bobbi (Bill) Christenberry, Independence; two sons, Mike Greet, Dickson, TN and Ricky (fiancée Kim Sible) Greer, Attica; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; three brothers, George (Lois) Greer, Lafayette; Bobby Gene (Rhoda) Greer and Louis (Janet) Greer, both of West Point; three sisters, Willadene “Bo” Short, Frankfort; Pauline Phelps and Rosie (Robert) Long, both of Lafayette. He was precede in death by a sister, Janie Wirth.
    Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Tuesday, March 24th, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 25th, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Harvey Lange officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica.     She was born Jan. 29, 1945, in Warren County, and was a 1996 graduate of Ivy Tech State College of Lafayette. She formerly resided in Brookston and Dallas.
    Since 1998, she had been a loan processor for Share Plus Federal Credit Union of Dallas, preciously working about 20 years for Consolidated Industries of Lafayette.
    Ms. Worth was a member of Christ Our King Community Church of Plano.
    Surviving are a son, Tony Wirth; two daughters, Sheila Soper (husband: Dan) of Bloomington, Ill., and Sheryl Briggs (husband: Phil) of Avon; four brothers, Bobby Gene Greer of Lafayette, Louis Greer of West Point, George Greer of Brownsburg and Carl Greer of Attica; and three sisters, Willadene “Bo” Short of Forest, Pauline Phelps of Independence and Rose Long of Plano.

    Gary A. Short Sr. of Camden, passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at Franciscan Health in Lafayette. He was born on October 11, 1951, in Lafayette, Indiana to Roger and Willadene (Greer) Short.

    Gary was a graduate of the class of 1970 of Delphi High School.

    He married Donna Jean Fair on March 18, 1989; she preceded him in death on October 4, 2017.

    Survivors include his children, Brandi (Tracy) Nape, Gary (Janelle) Short Jr. , Sabrina (Jody) Bolin, Robert (Brandi) Short, two step-sons, David (Dianna) Hicks and James (Tracy) Hicks, 20 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 5 sisters; Edna Halsema, Sharon Short, Janie Snodgrass, Janet (Jerry) Barker, and Judy (Gary) Owens.

    He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, and a granddaughter.

    The funeral service will be held November 1, 2021, with Dave Kalman officiating, at Genda Funeral Home in Rossville. Burial will follow in Paint Creek Cemetery in Camden.
