    • William Sherman McKnight 92, of Sweetwater Rd. Mt Vernon died Saturday March 5, 2011 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond. Sherman was a farmer and long time member of the Conway Baptist Church.

      Sherman is survived by his daughters Beverly McKnight and Debbie (Jerry) Owens both of Rockcastle County, his grandchildren Brandon (Constance) Owens, Carrie McKnight, and Brittany (Dewey) Williams, and great grandchildren MJ Farthing and Braydon Owens. Sherman was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Lydia Wynn McKnight and his wife Marie McKnight, and 1 brother and six sisters.

      Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 pm at Lakes Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Owens officiating, burial will be in the Rice Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brandon Owens, Dewey Williams, Larry McKnight, Ronnie Sears, Steve Sears, and Charles Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are MJ Farthing, Braydon Owens and the Wayne Stewart Adult Care staff. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-9 pm at Lakes Funeral Home.
