    • Donald E. RIEGER, age 81 went to be with the Lord July 12, 2004 at the Friendly Nursing Home in Germantown He was born January 21, 1923 to the late Ward & Irene Rieger in Farmersville, OH.

      He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruby A. (Wilmot) Rieger They were married June 8th, 1942. Also surviving are his children, Donna Jean Howard of Farmersville, Monte L. (Connie) of West Alexandria, Barry L. (Teresa) of Farmersville and Michael D. of Germantown. One brother Robert (Treva) of Germantown, 2 sisters Virginia Lakes of Jacksonburg, OH & Betty Haven (Gerald) of Germantown 20 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.

      Preceded in death by his parents, he was a 1940 graduate of Gratis High School. Donald served in WW II from 1943-1946 in the South Pacific as a field lineman in the 542nd company engineer boat and shore regiment. He retired from General Motors in 1978 after 33 years of service. He was a member of the Eaton Church of Christ. Donald enjoyed sports & the outdoors, hunting and fishing.

      Funeral services will be held on Friday July 16, 2004 at 10:00 AM at the Eaton Church of Christ. Burial at Fairview Cemetery, Gratis, OH. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5-8 PM at the Arpp & Root Funeral Home, Germantown, OH.
