    Warren “Spook” H. Wunnenberg, 47, of Fort Myers, Fla., died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 1992, in Burlington.
    Born Oct. 21, 1944, in Burlington, he was the son of Ralph and Daisy Pforts Wunnenberg. On Jan. 20, 1970, he married Linda Spencer in Miami, Fla. Mr. Wunnenberg was a professional musician for 20 years. He was the Midwest Champion Rudimental Drummer for nine years. He played in the marching band at Burlington High School and, at the request of President Nixon, represented the United States in a rudimental drum championship. For the last 10 years he has owned and operated a lawn care business. He served in the war in Vietnam.
    Survivors include his wife, Linda; two daughters, Rayna D. and Krista L. Wunnenberg, at home; his parents, of Burlington; one sisters, Shirley Dorsey of Burlington; and one brother, Darwin Wunnenberg of Phoenix, Ariz.
    Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Prugh’s Chapel. The funeral for Mr. Wunnenberg will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Prugh’s Chapel. The Rev. Gary Chapman will officiate. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
    A memorial fund has been established for Mr. Wunnenberg’s children’s education.

    Ralph Wunnenberg, 91, 2674 Florence Ave., died at 12:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5, 1993, at home.
    He was born Feb. 6, 1901, in Sperry, the son of Fred and Anna Reiman Wunnenberg. He was a farmer and an electric assembler at the Burlington Instrument Co.
    He belonged to the Zion United Church of Christ and the Moose Lodge. On Nov. 30, 1932, he married Daisy Irene Pforts in Burlington.
    Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Shirley m. Dorsey of Burlington; a son, Darwin Wunnenberg of Phoenix, Ariz.; three granddaughters; a grandson; two great-granddaughters; three great-grandsons, and a brother, Alfred Wunnenberg of Burlington. He was preceded in death by a son.
    The funeral for Mr. Wunnenberg will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Prugh’s Chapel with the Rev. Gary Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Prugh’s Funeral Home from 2:30 to 4 p.m. today.

    Suicide suspected in man’s death
    The Hawk Eye
    Authorities found the body of an apparent suicide victim early today in his Burlington home. Ralph H. Wunnenberg, 91, 2624 Florence Ave., was found in his basement around 1 a.m. according to the Des Moines County Sheriffs Department. He died of a gunshot wound to the head. It appeared to be self-inflicted, according to the department, which is investigating the death along with Des Moines County Medical Examiner Dr. Eugenio Torres. The department didn’t release any other information on the suicide, including who reported it.
    Torres couldn’t be reached for comment today.
    An ambulance was dispatched to Wunnenberg’s resident at 12:48 a.m., but didn’t make transport to Burlington Medical Ceneter.

    Daisy Irene Wunnenberg, 86, of 2624 Florence Ave., Burlington, died at 4:28 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 21, 1996, at Burlington Medical Center.
    Born Jan. 16, 1910, in Sperry, she was the daughter of William and Julia Kampmeier Pforts. On Nov. 30, 1932, she married Ralph Herbert Wunnenberg in Burlington. He died Feb. 5, 1993.
    Mrs. Wunnenberg worked for 10 years in obstetrics nursery in Burlington Hospital. She also provided private care. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Adah Dorcas Circle and was a participant in the community luncheon program.
    Survivors include one daughter, Shirley M. Dorsey of Burlington; one son, Darwin Wunnenberg of Phoenix, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was precede in death by her parents, one son, a sister and a brother.
    Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in Prugh’s Chapel.
    The funeral for Mrs. Wunnenberg will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Prugh’s Chapel, with the Rev. Gary Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for Zion United Church of Christ.

    Fred C. Wunnenberg, Sperry, Ia., retired farmer, died at Burlington hospital at 2 o’clock this afternoon following an illness of five years. He was admitted to the hospital only a few minutes before he died.
    He was a life resident of Des Moines county. He was born in this county 79 years ago, Feb. 17, 1962. He was a member of Zion Evangelical church of Latty.
    Surviving are his widow; three sons, Ralph of Sperry, Alfred of Burlington and Vernon of Florida; four daughters, Mrs. Roy Anderson and Mrs. Clarence Thomes, Sperry, Mrs. Elmer Ruschill, Burlington, and Mrs. Chester McKeown of Mediapolis; one brother, Otto, of Sperry; two sisters, Mrs. Louis Malchow of Kingston and Mrs. Herbert Edmonds, Sperry; and seven grandchildren. Two sons preceded him in death.
    The body is at Progh’s chapel. Rites will be set later.

    She was born Oct. 18, 1883, in this county, a daughter of Louis and Lydia Kampmeier and married to the late William Pforts March 24, 1908 in Burlington.

    It certifies that he has pursued the miller's trade for several years, partly as an apprentice and partly as a journeyman, and has behaved irreproachably during this time, also processes proven skill in his trade and, as far is known, leaves behind no debt. It is dated 12 June 1844, signed and sealed by the Ducal government office of Braunschweig Luneburg, W. Bode. Introductory pages remind the bearer of proper conduct.     Item 4. It is further my will that the provisions made in Item 3. Hereof shall be in lieu of dower and any and all rights of whatever kind, statutory or otherwise the said Dorathea Riemann may have as my widow.

    Wapello, Ia., July 29. – The descendants of Mrs. Dorothy Reimann held their annual reunion Sunday at the chautauqua park at Mediapolis. Mrs. Reimann, who is 88 years of age was the guest of honor. A picnic dinner featured the noon hour and the afternoon was spent socially and pictures of the group were taken.
    The personnel included Mrs. Riemann, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wunnenberg, Mr. and Mrs. George Reimann, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Whitaker, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Thomas [Thomes], Mr. and Mrs. Roy Anderson, Nora, Retta and Roy Reimann, Ralph and Alfred Wunnenberg, Winona and Marcella Reimann, Genevieve Thomas [Thomes], Orval Anderson and William Walker of Sperry; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Meyer of West Burlington; May Wunnenberg, Elmer Ruschill, Donald Sullivan of Burlington, and Mrs. Joseph Schmeiser and children Vera, Orval and Alice Schmeiser of Wapello.

    Mrs. Dorothea Riemann, 93, Wapello township in Louisa county, died at the Schmeiser home near Wapello Saturday night at 8:30.
    She was the widow of Frederick Riemann who died in June, 1896. Surviving are a son, Fred Riemann, Sperry, and three daughters, Mrs. Fred Wunnenberg of Sperry, Mrs. Joseph Schmeiser of Wapello and Mrs. Fred Meyer of West Burlington.
    Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and a brother, William Bremer of Burlington.
    Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday from the Burnett-Wapello funeral home. The Rev. R. R. Belter, pastor of Bethany Lutheran church, will conduct the service. Burial will be in St. Paul's church cemetery, Kingston.
