Dr. Otto C. Baird, member of a well-known old Des Moines county family, passed away at the hospital here Wednesday afternoon shortly after 3 o’clock. While trying to board a train at Lockridge a week ago Friday he was thrown beneath the wheels. He was brought to the Burlington hospital but the shock had been too great and the intensely hot weather was against him.
