    Greenville, Ohio – George O. Clifton, 52 years old, R.R.2, New Madison (Burkett Road), collapsed and died while at work with the Baird Construction Co. of Greenville at the Greenville Manufacturing Works Tuesday. He was dead on arrival at Wayne Hospital. Mr. Clifton, who was born in Monetta, Iowa, had been employed by the Baird Construction Co. here for four years. He lived in Indiana a number of years before coming to Ohio seven years ago.
    Survivors include the widow, Della; three sons, George E., Ralph and Randy, all at home; three daughters, Mary, Jane and Mallie Jean, all at home; two brothers, Irvin of Iowa and Glen of Memphis, Tenn.; one sister, Mrs. Lyle (Joyce) Morgan, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
    Services for Mr. Clifton will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Miller Funeral Home. Rev. Fred Cough will officiate. Burial will be in the Palestine Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 Wednesday at the funeral home.

    Della C. Buchanan, 75, of Arcanum, passed away the afternoon of Nov. 3, 2006, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton.
    She as born Oct. 10, 1931, in Harlan County, Ky., daughter of the late James A. and Mallie (Jackson) Cooper. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, George O. Clifton in 1969; brothers Garrett “Red” Cooper and Phillip Tolliver; sisters, Vesta Carroll, Bessie Saylor, Inez Cooper and Sarah Cooper; and a granddaughter, Cassandra Clifton.
    A homemaker, Della had previously worked at Dottie’s Restaurant in Greenville.
    She is survived by her second husband, James F. Buchanan, whom she married April 8, 1977; sons, George and wife Kathy Clifton of New Madison; Ralph E. and wife Kimberly Clifton of Troy, and Randy D. and wife Deborah Clifton of Greenville; daughters, Mary Sue and husband Rod Brickler of New Madison, Janie Plummer of Greenville and Mallie J. and husband Darrell Theurer of Greenville; a stepson, James F. Buchanan Jr. of Wichita, Kan.; stepdaughters Debra J. (Buchanan) Hunt of Newberg, Ore., and Patrica A. and husband Tom Carr of Newberg, Ore.; 18 grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren, and a sister, Jeannette (Reeda) Gilbert) of Baxter, Ky.
    Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home, Greenville, with the Rev. Eric Fee officiating. Burial will follow in Palestine Cemetery.

    Notes:

    Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 8 from the Methodist church, Primghar, for McClellan (Mack) Taylor, who died January 6. Last rites were held at 2:00 p.m. and were conducted by Rev. Paul Clements, pastor. Pallbearers were Henry Schoening, Joe Dorschner, Will Kammerer, Gale Jone, Geo Brinkert and Geo. Irvine. Interment was in Pleasant View cemetery, Hartley.
    McClellan (Mack) Taylor son of Mary Thacker Taylor and Marshall Taylor, was born Febr. 1, 1868 in Atchison county, Missouri. He passed away on January 6, 1955 at 5 40 p.m. at the age of 86 years, 11 months and six days. He was united in holy wedlock to Nancy Ann Williams on Nov. 23, 1890. They started the venture of married life on a farm near Rockport, Mo. They lived in Missouri until 1900 when they came to Iowa in a covered wagon. They farmed in various Iowa communities but mostly in O'Brien county. In 1933 they retired from the farm and moved to Primghar where they lived at the time of Mr. Taylor's passing.
    To this union were born 13 children, four of whom preceded their father in death. Children Alice, Henry and Clara died in infancy, daughter Mina, Mrs. Harry Clifton passed away at the age o f 39.
    Mr. Taylor was always a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed by all.
    Those left to mourn his death are his wife, Nancy Ann and nine children. The four sons are Orval of Hartley, Herman of Arnolds Park, Claude of Mound, Minn., and Herschel of Eldorado, Kans. His five surviving daughters, Mrs. Cleta Clinton of Reseda, Calif., Mrs. Esther Powell of Primghar, Leola, Mrs. Albert Stoterau of Hartley, Marie, Mrs. Murvin Hopkins, Sanborn and Gretchen, Mrs Raymond Hochhaus of Edgewood, Ia. Besides members of the immediate family there are 4? grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren.
