Richard Owen Carmack
Richard Owen Carmack, son of Wm. and Mary Ellen Carmack, was born in Sullivan County, Mo., on March 1, 1881, and departed this life at the family home six miles west of Fayette, Mo., on March 28, 1941, at the age of 60 years and 28 days.
He was united in marriage to Nora Cassidy in January, 1913. To this union were born 2 sons, Edgar and Dillard. His wife preceded him in death Dec. 31, 1918. He was again married to Anna Faulkner, Aug. 9, 1925. To this union was born 1 son, Bernie.
He leaves to mourn his loss his wife and three sons of the home; 4 sisters, Mrs. Nova Carter of Elmer, Mo.; Mrs. Sally Forbes of St. Catherine, Mo.; Mrs. Nellie Linhart and Mrs. Cleo Carter of Glasgow, Mo.; 4 brothers, Mell, of Browning, Mo.; Lon and Jake of St. Catherine, Mo.; and Charlie of Linneus; 1 uncle, Pete Carmack; 2 aunts, Mary Turner and Emma Page.
Forty-two nieces and nephews, sixty-eight grand nieces and nephew, also a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted by Mr. P.H. Chaffee, singing by the Owasco choir. Interment in the Baker cemetery near the birthplace of the deceased.

Amanda Jane Cassity was born in Callaway county, Missouri, April 9, 1851. Was united in marriage to Andrew Cassity in Linn county and to this union seven children were born: Thomas, Laura, Hugh, Ben, Albert, Nora and Walter. The husband and two of the children have preceded her to the great beyond. She united with the Church of Christ early in life and remained faithful until death which occurred August 7, 1922. She was 71 years, 3 months and 28 days old. She leaves to mourn her departure 5 children, 2 brothers, 21 grandchildren and many other relatives. The funeral at Nester Chapel was conducted by the writer. Wm.G. Coram.

MHR note: Alvah R. Cassity was "a whiskey-drinking, flute-playing, home-loving individual, with typical Irish temper" said Naomi Stutsman, Hefferman, their granddaughter. They and their daughter Nancy and baby daughter went to Texas and stayed over night with Addison Hedges and returned to Missouri and settled near Linneus because it was so much like Kentucky. They bought land from the government for twenty five cents an acres.

Dorothy and Ruth Ann were sisters, both being daughters of Jacob Trumbo.
