    Charles "Jim" Morton Jackson 74, of Steinauer, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at his home in Steinauer, Nebraska. He was born on September 10, 1937 to Raymond and Ada (Crouch) Jackson in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. When Charles was young he and his family moved from Mt. Vernon to Genoa, Illinois where he grew up and attended school to the 9th grade. Charles married Janice Graham on November 7, 1975 in Omaha, Nebraska. Charles did construction and trucking for many different companies through his life. Charles loved to pheasant hunt, fish, deer hunting, watching car racing and baseball. He loved spending time with family, siblings and friends.

    Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Ada Jackson, brothers Franklin Jackson and Orville "Jack" Jackson.

    He is survived by his wife Janice of Steinauer, NE, sons and spouses, Charles Jackson, Jr. and Morene of Illinois, Steven Jackson and Theresa of Wisconsin, Jack Bonde of Illinois, stepchildren, Michelle Koelmel of Steinauer, NE, Stuart Pruett and wife Roxanne of Steinauer, NE, three grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, brother Larry Jackson of Belvedere, Illinois, and sister Katherine Saunders of Illinois.

    Funeral services 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Wherry Mortuary, 919 G Street, Pawnee City, Nebraska. Officiating Elder Mark Morrow. Visitation Tuesday, August 14, 2012 from Noon-8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. at Wherry Mortuary, Pawnee City, Nebraska. Interment at the Pawnee City Cemetery, Pawnee City, Nebraska.

    Raymond O. Jackson, 84, of Genoa, died Monday, 1 March 1993, at his home.
    He was born March 22, 1908, in Weber Township, Jefferson County, the son of Alfred M. and Etta J. Davis Jackson. He married Ada Crouch on Dec. 29, 1933, in Mt. Vernon.
    He was a farmer in southern Illinois for many years, and was later employed as a steel cutter for DeKalb Forge for 20 years.
    Survivors include his wife; four sons, Orval R. Jackson of Belvidere, Charles (Janice) Jackson of Tablerock, Neb., Franklin Jackson of Omaha, Neb., and Larry Jackson of Belvidere; one daughter, Kathy (Bob) Sanders of Oregon, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; one sister, Pearl Richards of Green Castle, Ind.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by parents and seven brothers and sisters.
    Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the Slater-Butala Funeral Home in Genoa, with the Rev. James P. Freund officiating. Burial will be at Genoa Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

    Ada E. Jackson, 78, of Genoa died Friday, July 12, 1996 at her home. She was born July 23, 1917 in BelleRive Township, Ill., the daughter of Charles and Blanche (Orrick) Crouch.
    She married Raymond O. Jackson Dec. 29, 1933 in Mt. Vernon, Ill. Ada was employed by Brody’s, Fall Products in Genoa and Cord’s in DeKalb for many years.
    She is survived by four sons, Orval R. Jackson of Belvidere, Charles (Janice) Jackson of Tablerock, Neb., Franklin Jackson of Omaha, Neb. and Larry Jackson of Belvidere; one daughter, Kathy Sanders of Steward, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four brothers, M.A. (Pat) Crouch of Aurora, Charles Crouch of Woodlawn, Tom (Mary) Crouch of DeKalb and Bill (Lillian) Crouch of DeKalb; five sisters, Hattie Rapp of Bluford, Ill., Eleanor Gregory of Bluford, Elfreda Ellis of DeKalb, Mary (Jack) Border of DeKalb and Ruthann DeLaney of Mt. Vernon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, three sisters, one half-sister and three half-brothers.
    Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Slater-Butala Funeral Home of Genoa, with the Rev. James P. Freund officiating. Burial will be in the Genoa Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    A memorial fund has been established, in care of the Slater-Butala Funeral Home, 132 W. Main St., Genoa, Ill.

    Funeral Monday For C.C. Crouch
    Funeral services for Charles C. Crough, 79, who died at 12:30 p.m. yesterday at his home in Webber township, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Oakdale church. The Rev. Bird Green and the Rev. martin will conduct the service and burial will be in Oakdale cemetery.
    Mr. Crouch was the father of 21 children and selected as the “Father of the Day” by the Father’s Day Committee Chairman in a context sponsored by the King City Retailers in June.
    Mr. Crouch was in failing health at the time of the contest and was unable to make the trip to Mt. Vernon to receive the many gifts which were given him by the King City Retailers.
    Sixteen of his children survive. They are: John at home, Glen of Bluford, Melvin of Sikeston, Mo., Charles of Chicago, Thomas of DeKalb, Kenneth of Cincinnati, O., William of Morton, Ill., Mrs. Ross Shields, Mrs. Hattie Rapp, Mrs. Eleanor Gregory of Bluford, Mrs. Ada Jackson of Belle Rive, Mrs. Elfreida of DeKalb, Mrs. Mary Bordon of Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Dorothy Finn of Malta, Ill., Mrs. Ruth Ann Phelps and Miss Marcella Crouch of Mt. Vernon. Twenty-one grandchildren also survive.
    Mr. Crouch was a lifetime farmer and resided in Jefferson county for 50 years. He was first married in 1896 to Sarah Craft Martin in Covington, Ind., and in 1915 he married Blanche Orrick, who preceded him in death October 13, 1938.
    The body will lie in state at Comb’s Chapel in Wayne City.
