Moody, died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lambert Hagerdon, on the Bethel pike, of typhoid fever. She is survived by four small children, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hagerdon, a sister, Mrs. Edgar Moody, and two brothers, Lambert Hagerdon, Jr., and James Hagerdon, of Jessamine county. The funeral services will be held at the Baptist church in Wilmore Saturday morning at 10:30 o’clock and the body will be buried in the Nicholasville cemetery. 9754 | Mrs. Lula Zopp, 80, Dies At Residence East Rainell, No. 18. - Mrs. Lula Ganna Zopp, 40, wife of Stonewall J. Zopp, died today at her East Rainelle home following an extended illness. A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Tinsley, she was born at Fort Springs Dec. 17, 1871. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of East Rainelle. The family is well known throughout this area and are former residents for many years of Big Countain near Rupert. Surviving besides her husband are four daughters, Mrs. D.B. Hayes and Mrs. A.J. Goolsby, both of East Rainelle; Mrs. R.H. Amick of Charleston; and Mrs. W.D. Hobbs of Smoot; also two sons, J.P. Zopp of Rainelle, and R.J. Zopp of Bridgeport, Ohio. Other survivors include two sisters, Mrs. E.E. Collins of Ashland, Ky., and Mrs. P.S. Rushford of New Martinsville; also 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. 9755 | Mrs. Luther Hedges Mrs. Bessie L. Hedges, 68, widow of Luther Hedges, DeLong road, died at 6 p.m. yesterday at the residence of her daughter Mrs. J.F. Thompson, 355 Woodland avenue, after an illness of one year. A native of Mason county, she was a daughter of the late J.F. and Laura McDonald Cook. She received her education in the schools of her native county. She had been a resident of Fayette county since 1921 and was a member of the Christian church in Maxon county. Besides Mrs. Thompson, Mrs. Hedges is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Perry Minor, Nicholasville; a son, Stanley Hedges, Springfield, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Doyle, Pontiac, Mich., and Mrs. J.D. Brumagen, Lexington; a brother, O.C. Cook. Fayette county; five grandchildren, David Hedges and Stanley Hedges Jr., J.F. Thompson Jr., Mrs. W.C. Lamb and Mrs. Frank Stelle, all of Lexington; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The body was taken to the W.R. Milward mortuary where services will be held. 9756 | Mrs. Lydia Gilkison Dies In Her Sleep Mrs. Lydia Adron Gilkison, 75, died unexpectedly in her sleep early yesterday morning at her home, 1416 Main. She had been in her usual health Friday, sewing on a quilt and doing her housework as usual. she was born in Fleming county, Ky., April 17, 1882, a daughter of James W. and Mary M. Lewman, and was married there Dec. 16, 1897, to Samuel S. Gilkison. They came to Atchison county in 1901, locating on a farm near Cummings, where they resided until his death Dec. 6, 1942. She had lived in Atchison since that time. Surviving are six children, William I. Gilkison, Alvin S. Gilkison and Mrs. Albert &Myrtle) Meyer, all of Atchison; James A. (Dick) Gilkison, Horton; Clarence E. Gilkison, Kansas City, Kas., and Edwin E. Gilkison, Hoyt; 21 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Judith Walker, Atchison, and Mrs. Della Ingels, Garden Grove, Calif.; four brothers, Leonard and Walter Lewman, Cummings; Curtis Lewman, Muscotah, and Marvin Lewman, Hollywood, Calif. Mrs. Gilkison was a member of the Atchison Methodist church and of the Mary-Martha Sunday school class. Her hobbies were flowers and quilt making. She enjoyed doing things for her friends. Funeral services will be held at the Stanton chapel at 2 p.m. tomorrow, the Rev. H.J. Sterling officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery. Six nephews will be pallbearers. 9757 | Mrs. M.A. Hedge Mrs. Matilda A. Hedges died on Saturday night, January 7, at 8:45 o’clock, at the age of 85 years, 8 months and 21 days. Mrs. Hedges suffered a stroke of paralysis on August 20, last, and had been an invalid since that time. Two weeks ago, bronchial pneumonia developed and was the immediate cause of her death. Mrs. Hedges was born on May 15, 1942, in Guilford County, North Carolina, and while still a child was taken by her grandparents to Indiana, where she grew to womanhood. She first was married to Jacob Greeson and became the mother of three children by this marriage. Two sons died in infancy, a daughter, now Mrs. Charles Stroup, of near Lebanon surviving. Mr. Greeson, a Federal soldier, died during the Civil War. Mrs. Hedges had a vivid remembrance of the stirring events of that period and of the Lincoln presidential campaigns, having often seen the martyred President. A few years following the close of the Civil War, she was married to Francis M. Hedges and one son, Charles Hedges, was born in this union. After the death of Mr. Hedges in 1881, she came to Lebanon and here the remainder of her life was spent in the homes of her son and daughter. In addition to her daughter, Mrs. Stroup, and son, Charles Hedges, she is survived by seven grand-children: Homer and Fred Stroup, of Laclede County; Charlie Holman and James Stroup, of Oklahoma; Wilbert Stroup and Mrs. Lydia Howard, of Newberg, and Mrs. Hazel Eoff, of Springfield. There are thirteen great-grand-children. Funeral services were held on Monday, at New Hope, Rev. Homer King officiating. Interment was in New Hope Cemetery. 9759 | Mrs. Manley (Opal) Buckman Mrs. Opal Laverne Buckman died at her home in Linneus Sunday. She was 73. Mrs. Buckman was born Jan. 28, 1904, at Purdin, daughter of Charles Bagley and Anna Hedges Bagley. On Dec. 24, 1921 she was married to Manley Buckman. He died Dec. 31, 1976. The couple farmed in the Linneus area, and after retirement moved to Meadville. After Mr. Buckman’s death, Mrs. Buckman returned to Linneus. She was a member of the Meadville Church of Christ. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Betty Wood, Linneus; two sons, Bill Buckman, St. Joseph and Donald Buckman, Denver, Colo.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and four brothers, Raymond Bagley, Purdin; Alva Bagley, Shelbina; Chester and Leslie Bagley, both of Kirksville. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Kirt, Rollie and Wayne. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Meadville Church of Christ with Brother William Hensley officiating. Burial will be in the Elmwood cemetery at Linneus. 9766 | Mrs. Mary A. Stringer Dead of Pneumonia Mrs. Mary A. Stringer, 85 years old, died at 10 o'clock yesterday morning after a week's illness from pneumonia. She was the wife of William B. Stringer and lived at 1075 North Dunham street. She was born in Montgomery county, Ky., in 1823 and was married in 1853 moving ten years later to Moweaqua where her husband engaged in business. They later moved to Blue Mound. In 1892 Mr. Stringer retired from business and they have lived in Decatur since that time. She joined the Christian church when she was 17 years old. Besides her husband she leaves a daughter, Mrs. Lydia Rawlings, a granddaughter, Imogene of Chanute, Kas., three brothers, Martin L. Ribelin of Washington, Ind.; B.F. She was born in Bath County, Kentucky on August 17, 1927 to the late Fred and Clara Myers Click. Mrs. Razor was a retired sales clerk having worked for R.H Hobbs 5 & 10 and Midland Grocery & Frosty Freeze. She was a lifelong member of the Midland First Church of God and enjoyed cooking, quilting and spending time with and caring for her family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Allie Ewell Razor who passed away on October 27, 1989 and one brother John Edward Click. Mrs. Molloy had been in failing health for several years. She was 89. Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon at the chapel of the Wright Funeral Home, Meadville. Interment will be in the Mount Olive cemetery, north of Meadville. Mary Hayes, daughter of John Hayes and Elizabeth (Cassity) Hayes, was born on Sept. 7, 1875, at Shafter in Linn County. She was married to J.D. Molloy and to this union seven children were born. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Blanche Meneely, Meadville and three sons, Bryan Molloy, Evansville, Ind.; Wilbur Molloy, Laclede, and Virgil Molloy, Meadville. 9777 | Mrs. Mary O. Davison Mrs. Mary O. Davison, sister of Frederick Cutler and Mrs. William H. Sharpe of Putnam, died in Uxbridge, Mass., on Friday at the home of her son, Wayland F. Davison. She was born in Killingly, April 8, 1831, being a daughter of Dan and Amy (Hussey) Cutler. She attended the public schools in her native town and married Elisha Davison November 20, 1856. After the marriage they moved to Putnam, where they lived until the death of Mr. Davison 21 years ago, when she went to Uxbridge to make her home with her son. She was an active member of the Taft Memorial Methodist Church, and was also a teacher in the Sunday School for many years. She is survived by five children, William E., Augustus, H., Wayland F. Born Aug. 8, 1893, in Linn County near Purdin, she was the daughter of David T. and American Ellen Reynolds Brown. She spent all her life in the Purdin area and was united in marriage to Charles K. Dail. She is survived by a daughter, Nannie H. Smith of Linneus; a son-in-law, Norman Smith of Linneus; two granddaughters, Mary Ann Minnis of 111 Tenth street and Nancy Ellen Shiflett of Purdin, and their husbands, Albert Minnis and Tom Shiflett, and Donna and Daniel Minnis. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother in infancy, and a sister, Bessie H. Brown. Memorial services were held Thursday at 2 at the Purdin Baptist Church with the Rev. Wrisinger officiating. Burial followed in a Linneus cemetery. Funeral music was provided by David Long, who sang “In the Sweet Bye and Bye” and “Good Night and Good Morning” accompanied by June Street. 9789 | MRS. MOORE IS DEAD Miss Deborah Ann Cassity was born in Bath county, Kentucky, April 21, 1842. She moved from that place to Linneus, Mo. She was married to Wm. Moore Sept. 23, 1866. To this union four children were born: Mrs. Cora Correll, Americus, Mrs. Effie Brickell of Emporia, and two children who died in infancy. Mrs. Moore joined the Christian church at Linneus, Mo. After living at that place about seven years Mrs. Moore moved to near Saffordville. About 1903 she moved to Americus where she resided until her death. Mr. Moore died March 15, 1913. Mrs. Moore joined the United Presbyterian church at Americus about 1912, and since that time she has continued and active and consistent member. Death came suddenly Monday morning, Feb. 5, at four o'clock, caused by heart failure, aged 80 years, 9 months and 14 days. For some time before death she had enjoyed good health. Mrs. Moore leaves to mourn her death one sister, Mrs. N. A. Stuttsman, Drummer, Mo., and two brothers, William Cassity and Alvah Cassity, both of Purdin, Mo. Mrs. Moore is also survived by three grandchildren are Miss Helen Brickell, of Emporia; Mrs. Effie Gibson of Wichita and Miss Ruth Correll of Americus. Mrs. Moore will be missed in the church. The United Presbyterian Church of Americus has lost a valuable member. The town has lost a good citizen and those who lived near her a good neighbor. Mrs. Moore was a kind mother, a good friend and an accommodating neighbor. Funeral services were held from the U. P. Church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. J. M.
