Notes - Mrs. G.E. Cassity Dies At Her Home
Wife of Pioneer Okmulgee Attorney and Leader in Civic Affairs Dies.
Mrs. G. E. Cassity, 817 North Okmulgee avenue, passed away at her home at 11:40 o'clock Sunday night after a lingering illness of more than 10 months.
Mr. Cassity, who is a practicing attorney in Okmulgee, and Mrs. Cassity came to Okmulgee shortly after statehood in 1907 and have lived here since.
Mrs. Cassity was a graduate of the University of Kansas, a lifelong member of the Christian Science church, a charter member and a prominent worker of the American Association of University Women, a charter member of the Okmulgee charter of the P.E.O. and a member of the Pythian Sisters.
She is survived by her husband, three daughters, Misses Ruth of Tulsa, Glenelle and Georgia of Okmulgee; two sons, Galen and Martin, Both of Okmulgee; two sisters, Mrs. R.A. Stewart and Mrs. S.A. Poe, both of Hutchinson, Kan., and two brothers, H.E. McCurdy of Hutchinson, and L.B. McCurdy of Chicago. Mrs. Cassity was 53 years old.
Definite arrangements for the funeral have not yet been completed but it probably will be held Wednesday afternoon and burial will be in the Okmulgee cemetery.
