- Marian F. ‘Sis’ Eaton
Riverton – Graveside services for Marian F. “Sis” Eaton, 73, will be held today at 2 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery with the Rev. J. Holland Vernon officiating.
She died Aug. 24, 1998, at Wind River Health Care Center.
She was born April 29, 1925, in Herrick, S.D., to Elmer and Alma Opal (Cantrell) Farrens. She was home schooled on the homestead at Moneta, attended school in Lander and then graduated from Riverton High School in 1942.
She was a longtime resident of Wyoming but had lived in Meeker, Colo., and Greeley, Colo.
She married Merle E. Eaton on Sept. 21, 1942, in Lander. She enjoyed her family and friends, fishing, hunting and sewing. She was a wonderful cook and had a humorour side that was a joy.
Survivors include her husband of Riverton; three sons, Dale Wayne Eaton of Green River, Alan Lee Eaton of Riverton and Richard Edwin Eaton and his wife of Green River; three daughters, Mary Louise Achziger and her husband of Eaton, Colo., Sharon Raye Slagowski and her husband of Lyman and Judith Muriel Mason and her husband of Eaton, Colo.; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gerald Farrens and his wife of Jacksonville, Fla., and Loren Farrens and his wife of Pavillion; and two sisters, Maribel Thomison of Winnemucca, Nev., and Marilue O’Malley of Riverton.
She was preceded in death by her father; stepmother, Goldie Farrens; mother; a son, Daryl E. Eaton; daughter Jean Ann Eaton; and two brothers, Kendall Wayne Farrens and Ronald Gwen Farrens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial to the American Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.-
