- MHR note: I went to see them 8 April 1959. He preaches for Hickory Grove Christian Holiness Church. He had a hesitation of speech as has one of his daughters. He worked for a man named Whissen not far from Martin "Luther" Gilkison. Marriages, 23, p.51, Flemming County. n.b.13, p.76.

- Rev. Forrest Lee Hedges
Flemingsburg – The Rev. Forrest Lee Hedges, 51, died at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington. A native of Fleming County, he was an evangelist.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Edith Carroll Hedges; four sons, Otha Lloyd Hedges, Ft. Lewis, Wash; Forrest Reed Hedges Jr., Chester Hedges and Paul Hedges, at home; two daughters, Misses Hazel and Hester Hedges, at home, and a sister, Mrs. Ella Carpenter, Fairborne, Ohio.
The body is at the McClure Funeral Home.

- Rev. Hedges, 51, Dies Of Injuries In Accident
The Rev. Forrest Lee Hedges, of Route 3, Flemingsburg, died at 11:30 a.m. yesterday morning at St. Joseph hospital, Lexington, from injuries sustained in an accident approximately six weeks ago. He was 51 years old.
The Rev. Mr. Hedges and his wife, the former Edith Carol Wagner, were injured in an accident with a truck near Orangeburg. Both were admitted to the hospital, but Mrs. Hedges returned home after a three week's stay.
Rev. Hedges took a turn for the worse Thursday and fell into a comatose condition. He was born February 20, 1914, a son of the late Lloyd Hedges and Sophia Jones Hedges.
A minister of the Christian Holiness church, Rev. Hedges was kind hearted and generous and his counsel was sought by many residents in this area. He was devoted to his work and his death will be a great shock to all who knew him.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four sons, Otha Lloyd, with the United States Army at Fort Lewis, Washington, Forrest Lee Jr., Chester and Paul, at home; two daughters, Hester and Hazel at home; a sister Mrs. Stella Carpenter, of Fairborne, Ohio. His brother Luther Hedges, predeceased him.
The remains were brought to the McClure Funeral Home, at Flemingsburg, last night and friends may call after noon today. The Rev. James Tackett will conduct the funeral services at the Hickory Grove Christian Holiness church, with the exact date and time to be announced later.
