- Cassity Will Case
In Judge Fred Lamb’s court Friday morning the case of V.M. Cassity et al vs. Fred E. Cassity came on for trial the plaintiffs sought to have the will of the late Armstrong Cassity set aside. Seventy witnesses were present and a strong array of legal talent. The trial consumed Friday and late Saturday evening the case was passed over to the jury which did not require much time in returning a verdict in favor of the plaintiffs.

- Frederick Earl Cassity, 92
Memorial services for Frederick Earl Cassity, 92, who died Saturday at Sperry’s Nursing Home, were held at the Purdin cemetery this morning at 11 o’clock under the direction of the Lindley Funeral Home, with the Rev. Walter Bingham officiating.
Mr. Cassity has been disabled many years, having suffered a stroke in 1955. He was the son of Armstrong and Josephine Pound Cassity of rural Purdin and was born Nov. 6, 1882. He lived his entire life in the Purdin community until going to the nursing home. He was a member of the Purdin Church of Christ.
Mr. Cassity was preceded in death by his wife, Alpha O. Cassity in January, 1953, and their only child, Leland Earl Cassity, 21 months ago.
He is survived by a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Eunice Cassity of Chillicothe; two grandsons, John of Kansas City, and Charles, of St. Louis, and two great-granddaughters, Christine and Tiana.
