Mrs. Lydia Seals Died From Burns of an Oil Stove Explosion.
Mrs. Lydia Seals, sister-in-law of Mrs. Eva Helms of this city, was fatally burned at her home in Purdin, Monday morning. Mrs. Seals was in the kitchen when an oil stove exploded, the flames of which ignited her clothing and hair. She was taken in an unconscious condition to the McLarney hospital in Brookfield where death occurred at 12 o’clock.
Arrangements for the funeral to be held Thursday afternoon are under the direction of the Chaney Funeral Home of Milan. Burial will be made in the family lot in the Milan cemetery.
Mrs. Seals is survived by a brother, Dr. Pomps Helms of Eugene, Ore., a former resident of this city. Her brothers, Wallace Helms and Ed Helms, preceded her in death. Her husband died eight years ago.
Mrs. Seals, who was 70 years old, made her home with her sister-in-law, Mrs. Lula Helms in Purdin. At the time of the accident Monday, Mrs. Helms was in the garden.
