- James Taylor Curtis, 75
 
Former Muncie resident James Taylor Curtis, 75, Land O’ Lakes, Fla., died Saturday after a short illness. 
Mr. Curtis, who was born in Morehead, Ky., lived in Muncie from 1946 until moving to Florida. He was an Army veteran, and a member of American Legion Post 19, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 651 and Avondale Sympathy Club. 
Survivors include four sons, James Curtis Jr. (wife: Edwina) and Ronald D. Curtis (wife: Tamara), both of Land O’ Lakes, Raymond Jesse Curtis, Deland, Fla., and Zack T. Curtis, Muncie; a daughter, Barbara Ann Smith, Muncie; three brothers, Floyd Curtis, Ohio, Ralph Curtis, Muncie, and Denny Curtis, Dunkirk; a sister, Ginger Avery, California; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. 
A daughter, Diana Sue Curtis, a brother, Samuel Curtis, and his parents are deceased. 
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Parson Mortuary-Adams Chapel, with Rev. J. Edward Pease officiating. Burial will be in Thompson Cemetery, Gaston, with military graveside rites. 
Calling will be 4-7 p.m. Monday at the mortuary.
