- Elwood Gilkison, 74
 
Muncie – Elwood Eugene (Perk) Gilkison, 74, Muncie, died Saturday in Ball Memorial Hospital after a long illness. 
He was born Dec. 3, 1927, in Bluestone, Ky., and had lived in Muncie most of his life. Mr. Gilkison worked for 30 years as a production worker for Borg-Warner. He was a member of Thanks to Calvary Church and the Warner Gear Sympathy Club. He also was a Red Cross tissue donor. 
Mr. Gilkison was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. 
Survivors include a son, Stephen W. Gilkison (wife: Janice) of Indianapolis; two sisters, Ella Jean Day of Orlando, Fla,, a twin to Mr. Gilkison and Leota Basham (husband: Carl) of Wheeling, W.Va., and companion, Pauline Stephens of Muncie. Four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren also survive. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Mary Belle Scaggs Gilkison; a son, Stanley E. Gilkison; two brothers, Otis H. and Otto H. Gilkison, and a sister, Eula Storie. 
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Parson Mortuary, with Pastor Dale Workman officiating. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. 
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary. 
Military rites will be conducted by the Veterans of Delaware County.
