[3, 4] - Blackburn – William H. Blackburn, 69, Purdin, Mo, died of leukemia, yesterday at the Bethany hospital, where he had been a patient a week. He had been ill since February. He was employed by the Gamble store in Purdin. He was born in Linn County. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Eunice Blackburn of the home; two sons, Rex Eugene Blackburn, Brookfield, Mo., and James Myrle Blackburn, 6405 North Main; three daughters, Mrs. Catherine Virginia Oaks, Santa Ana, Calif.; Mrs. Helen Louis Harmon, Purdin, and Mrs. Mary Ellen Sproul, Brookfield, a brother, Silas M. Blackburn, Preston, Mo.; 16 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. Services will be at 2 o’clock Saturday at the Purdin Methodist church. Burial will be in the Purdin cemetery.
