Notes - Prominent County Dairy Farmer Dies G. Edgar Roderuck, Walkersville, Succums To Short Illness
G. Edgar Roderuck, 59, well-known retired farmer of Walkersville, died Saturday afternoon at 1:15, at Frederick Memorial Hospital, where he was admitted Friday following a heart attack. Born in Frederick County he was the son of the late George T. and Fannie O. Lease Roderuck. He farmed in Glade Valley until eighteen months ago when he retired and moved to Walkersville. Mr. Roderuck was widely known for his outstanding herd of Holstein cattle which for a number of years won the state award for the highest production of butter-fat. He was a former president of the Frederick County Holstein Association and a member of the county D.H.I.A. for 25 years. He was also a member of the county Farm Bureau, served as a director for a number of years, and was a member of Glade Reformed Church, Walkersville. Surviving are his wife, Hazel Hedges Roderuck; four daughters, a son, a sister, Mrs. Elmer E. Thomas, Frederick and five grandchildren. The body is at the G. C. Barton funeral home in Walkersville, where services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Glade cemetery.
