    • Gerald Kissick, age 85, of New Castle passed away at I.U. Health Ball Hospital on Sunday, February 21, 2021 after a brief illness. He was born April 6, 1935 in New Castle, Indiana, a son of the late Arthur Virgil Kissick and Hazel Olliemae (Sparks) Kissick.

      He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Germany & China. Gerald was married to Violet Ruth (Denney) Kissick on July 8, 1969. A used car salesman, he owned Kissick’s Used Cars in New Castle where he also was a barber. He loved spending time with his family, playing and watching basketball, traveling to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, finding money and working outdoors.

      Gerald is survived by his wife of 51 years, Violet Ruth (Denney) Kissick; a daughter Allison (Dave) McClure of New Castle; granddaughters Audra and Claire McClure; step sister Esther (Brent) Furbee of Fishers; sisters-in-law Marilyn Kissick and Mary Kay Razor, both of New Castle, and several special cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends including, Linda Ross, Brooks & Beverly Muncy and Gary Marcum.

      Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Hazel Kissick; three sisters, Alberta Jean Lowe, Sylvia Christine Murphy, and Janet Cross-Smith; three brothers; Richard Eugene Kissick, Arthur Lennard Kissick and Melvin Howard Kissick; stepmother, Neva Kissick; brothers-in-law, Otis Ray Denney, Clifford Kidd, and Clyde Kenneth Lowe; sisters-in-law, Patsy Woolums and Evelyn Joy (Joyce) Kidd; mother and father in-law, Johnnie and Iva Denney and several special cousins, including Shirley & Gene Warth.

      Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 25, 2021 at South Mound Cemetery with Bob Caudill officiating. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, P.O.
