Walter E. Elliott, 72, of Moberly died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 1996, at Boone Hospital Center.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, at Cater Funeral Home Chapel in Moberly. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Brad J. Dixon officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, at the funeral home.
Mr. Elliott was born on Dec. 24, 1923, in Moberly to James W. and Lela F. Given Elliott.
On March 17, 1945, he married Dorothy M. Hill in Kansas City, Kan., and she survives.
Mr. Elliott was an engineer for Norfolk and Southern Railroad, formerly Wabash Railroad, and drove a bus for Moberly Public Schools for the past 10 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Moberly and the Brotherhood of
Locomotive Engineers.
Survivors also include two daughters, Connie McConnell of Columbia and Janet Gonzales of Chattanooga, Tenn.; three sons, Cecil Elliott of Columbia and Richard Elliott and Duane Elliott, both of Moberly; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph Elliot, Earl Elliott and Emmitt Elliott; an infant brother and two infant sisters.
