Notes - Mrs. Lottie H. Wiggins Dies; Rite Tuesday
Mrs. Lottie H. Wiggins, 63, died late Sunday in the Fort Pierce Sanitarium after an illness of several weeks.
She had been a resident of Fort Pierce since 1939 and had been practicing her profession of nursing here, both in the hospital and as a private duty nurse.
She trained at Illinois Training School for Nurses in Chicago and did post-graduate work at the Chicago Lying-In hospital. She was supervisor of nurse at the hospital in Brookfield, Mo., for three years at the Iowa Methodist hospital in Des Moines, at the Aurora, Ill., hospital and at University hospital, Ann Arbor, Mich.
She is survived by her husband, Cornelius, of Fort Pierce; two brothers, S.M. Blackburn of Preston, Mo.; Harrison of Purdin, Mo., several nieces and a nephew.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Yates Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. J.V. Copeland, pastor of the Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will follow in the Fort Pierce Cemetery.
Fort Pierce doctors will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Active pallbearers will be Walter Hibb, Gordon White, Eugene Bradford, Albert Yelton, Oliver Martin and Ernest Chandler.
