    • Gilkison
      Jerry Gilkison, 64, of Woodford Co., husband of Linda Jacobs Gilkison, died Wednesday, July 14, 1999 at his residence. Born in Fleming County, July 20, 1934, he was the son of the late Cecil and Myrtle Maddox Gilkison. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Millville Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was also a member of the Bluegrass Horse Pulling Association. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Gwen Carl and Cindy Gilkison both of Versailles; one son, Jerry “Tom” Gilkison of Versailles; one brother, Ronnie Gilkison of Lawrenceburg; and one granddaughter, Mandy Carl of Versailles. He was preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Goodrich. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 1999 at the Duell-Clark Funeral Chapel in Versailles with Rev. Mike Hamrick officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral chapel. Serving as casket bearers will be Steve Goodrich, Marty Gilkison, Mike Gilkison, Josh Jacobs, Will Jones, Chad Brown, Eddie Knight and Louie Ready. Honorary casket bearers will be Ken Ross, E.W. Davidson, B.R. Hippe, Clifford Shotwell, Ed Wells, Lonnie Brown, Tommy Wiley, and members of the Bluegrass Hose Pulling Association.
